1 - NCEA Courses Level 2 and 3
The National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) is the main qualification for secondary school students in New Zealand.
NCEA is recognised by employers, and used for selection by universities and other tertiary education providers in New Zealand and overseas.
There are 3 levels of NCEA certificate, depending on the difficulty of the standards achieved.
At each level, you need a certain number of credits to gain an NCEA certificate. You can gain these credits over more than 1 year.
You also need to achieve 10 Literacy or Te Reo Matatini credits, and 10 Numeracy or Te Pāngarau credits. After you've met this requirement, it counts for every level of NCEA.
NCEA is free to all New Zealand residents and citizens, however International students will be charged and NZQA administration fee of $383 per year.
