Course Statement | Vocational Pathway Studies is designed to recognize achievement in a broad range of skills identified by employers as being important in the workplace. These skills include communication, personal goal setting and career planning. These credits count towards your overall NCEA qualification. This course will assist students in becoming ‘work ready’. Vocational Skills: these are taught in the class and on short courses which include basic employment rights and responsibilities, self-awareness, curriculum vitae writing, career planning, and some practical trade skills. 'On the job' experience will be offered as opportunities arise or through short courses. These opportunities will ensure students can investigate first hand, occupations of interest, collect information on careers, and assess the suitability of these options. Such experiences will provide insight into what it takes to be in a full-time working environment. *This is a terminating Vocational Pathways Studies course. It does not lead to NCEA Level 3 Vocational Pathways Studies. *This is a Unit Standards course. |
