9PRM - Product Materials

In this course students will creatively explore and experiment with product design approaches, materials, practical skills, and conceptual thinking methods to solve problems. Students will develop their own design, learn a range of techniques in modelling, casting and assembling using different materials.

  • Product design development and techniques.

  • Build workshop and tool confidence for the creation of products.

  • Cast products in self-made silicone or wax moulds.

  • Create a final product from the cast produced.

  • Presentation of an outcome within context.

  • CAD - Sketchup modelling

  • 3-dimensional and 2-dimensional drawing skills: isometric, oblique, 1-point and 2-point perspective and third angle orthographic and projection drawing.
