The 9 ESL programme is aimed at students who do not currently meet all the criteria for the standard required in a mainstream English class. It serves as a bridge between the junior ESOL Immersion programme and a fully mainstream programme. The aim of the 9 ESL programme is for students to gain competency, skills and fluency in the English language. The programme is designed to help students improve their English language skills in Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking. The 9 ESL course is an option subject and does not replace Core English. Students are placed in 9ESL based on recommendations made by the HOF ESOL and/or HOF English.
