10 Computer Science

This course is an introduction to Physical Computing and Programming. Students are introduced to the concepts of microprocessors and microcontrollers. Students will first learn the basic components of a microcontroller and simple programming techniques through the virtual Tinkercad design system, then create real-life control and monitoring systems using the Arduino microcontrollers. Students learn concepts of the following topics-

• Simple data representation, memory units

• Computer System

• Digital Communication  

• Theory of Microprocessors and microcontrollers

• Control systems

• The components of an Arduino microcontroller

• Basic programming techniques

• Making and programming an arduino based control/monitoring system

A Windows or MacOS laptop is required. iPad and Chromebook will not suffice the requirements.
